Visual Communication Designer (1+ years of industry experience)

NOTE 1: The position is not meant for those who would want to shape up their career as UI/UX Product Designer.

NOTE 2: We are looking for those who want to become a rockstar Product Visual Communicator in all formats (illustrations, multimedia, animations) to clearly communicate the complex use-cases of a product and to keep the user emotionally charged up!

RAx is the first smart workspace that helps researchers (students, professors, corporate researchers) to be better and faster in their research projects. Powered with proprietary AI algorithms and a unique approach to solving problems with design and tech, RAx is set to be the default workspace for any research-heavy projects. Launched in 2019, the product connects information (Research papers, Blogs, Wiki, Books, Courses, Videos, etc.) to behaviors (reading, writing, annotating, discussing & more), opening up newer insights and opportunities in academic space that was otherwise not possible (or not imaginable).

Reducing cognitive load and helping people to convert information into knowledge, is at the core of our mission. Our engineering team is building a scalable platform that deals with tons of data, AI processing over the data and interactions of users from across the globe. We believe research plays a key role in making the world a better place, and we want to make it easy to approach and fun to do!

Role Overview

As a Visual Communication Designer you are responsible for conceptualize and create compelling visual content for interactive communication design as an integral part of the user experience. You are also responsible to create visual content for print, web, social media, emails and videos (promotional and explainer). You will be a building block of our design team to refine, expand, and systematize our brand expression. Your role will be pivotal in creating our brand guidelines across multiple media. You must have the willingness to keep learning about the product and research community.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Create an energetic and organic brand identity of the product and company

  2. Create consistent and intriguing illustrations for web, mobile and social media posts. Your work should thrive to give a delightful user-experience and develop a bond of trust and friendship.

  3. Make print-ready brochures, banners, flyers, social media ads and info-graphics that sets us apart from competitors, attracts business opportunities, and engages with our user community.

  4. Based on scripts make product explainer videos, tutorials, GIFs, 2D animations(complexity: low). Use your motion design skills to tell a product’s story, guide our users and improve usability. (complexity: easy-moderate)

  5. Using graphics to give a delightful product experience for rather daunting, boring and stressful work of users.

Experience with tools:

You should have a strong working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Aftereffects, Premiere Pro and InDesign.

Skills that make you a good fit for us:

  1. Clear communication and ability to organize work
  2. Conceptually strong in typography and color theory
  3. Good understanding of grids and layouts
  4. Absorb and apply criticism on your work positively
  5. Pro-activeness and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Team player who is always eager to learn from cross-discipline teams
  6. Eye for details and consistency
  7. Moderate skills in photography

Qualification required:

We prefer(not mandate!) candidate with BS/MS in visual communication, animation, Interaction Design, or related and at least 1-year experience in visual design. Above all, we believe in ‘Let your work speak for you.'
